How to Delete Pages From a PDF for Free
Remove blank, duplicate or private pages by clicking them or typing their numbers, check what is left before you save, and see what happens to bookmarks and links.

To delete pages from a PDF, open ToolistHub's free Delete PDF Pages tool, add the PDF, select Delete under each page you want to remove or type their numbers, then select Apply changes and download the new PDF. The pages are taken out of the file, not just hidden. Delete PDF Pages works in your browser, so your PDF is not uploaded.
How to delete pages from a PDF
- Open Delete PDF Pages. Go to the Delete PDF Pages page on your computer or in your phone's browser.
- Add your PDF. Select Choose a PDF file, or drop the PDF on the drop area. A numbered preview of every page appears.
- Mark the pages to remove. Select Delete under a page, or select its preview. The page is marked Will be deleted, and Restore brings it back.
- Check what is left. The summary next to Apply changes lists the pages to delete and how many pages the new PDF will have.
- Select Apply changes, then download the new PDF. It is named after your file with -pages-removed added, and your original file isn't changed.
Remove several pages at once
Type the page numbers and ranges in Pages to delete, separated by commas: 1, 4, 8-12 marks pages 1, 4 and 8 to 12. Pages you select in the previews appear in the box too, so you can start one way and finish the other. Restore all pages clears every mark.
Before you save
At least one page must remain, so the tool won't let you delete every page. Check the previews once more: a deleted page can't be brought back from the new file, so keep the original until you are sure.
What happens to links, bookmarks and forms
Bookmarks and links that went to a deleted page, and form fields that were only on it, are removed with the page. The rest of the document keeps its bookmarks, links, form fields and properties such as the title, and the pages you keep are not redrawn or compressed.
If the PDF is tagged for screen readers, the tags are removed, because they also described the deleted pages. And because the PDF is saved again, a digital signature in it will no longer be valid.
Delete pages or split the PDF?
Delete PDF Pages gives you one PDF without the pages you removed. If you need some pages as separate files instead, such as one chapter, use Split PDF, which uploads PDFs of up to 4 MB to ToolistHub's server and cuts them by page range. Our guide to splitting a PDF by page range explains the options.
Limits to know
- One PDF of up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages at a time.
- Encrypted PDFs can't have pages deleted, including password-protected PDFs and PDFs that open without a password but restrict editing or printing. Save an unprotected copy first.
Delete pages on a Mac with Preview
On a Mac, open the PDF in Preview, choose View > Thumbnails or View > Contact Sheet, select the pages and press the Delete key. Apple's guide to adding, deleting or moving PDF pages in Preview notes that any annotations on a deleted page are removed as well.
Frequently asked questions
How do I delete one page from a PDF?
Select Delete under that page's preview in Delete PDF Pages, or type its number in Pages to delete. Then select Apply changes and download the new PDF.
Can I remove pages from a PDF without Acrobat?
Yes. Delete PDF Pages works in your web browser with nothing to install, and Preview does it on a Mac.
Can I delete PDF pages on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's web browser: tap Delete under each page to remove, or type the page numbers, then tap Apply changes and Download PDF. A very large PDF may need more memory than a phone has.
Are deleted pages really removed from the file?
Yes. They are taken out of the new PDF, not hidden, so their content doesn't stay in the file.
Conclusion
To remove pages you don't need, mark them in Delete PDF Pages by clicking or typing their numbers, check the summary, apply the changes and download the new file. The pages you keep stay exactly as they were.
