How to Use Delete PDF Pages

  1. Add Your PDF

Drag a PDF onto the drop area or select Choose a PDF file. You can work on one PDF at a time, of up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages. Password-protected PDFs and PDFs with editing or printing restrictions are refused with a message.

  2. Choose the Pages to Remove

Select Delete under a page, or its preview, to mark it Will be deleted; Restore brings it back. You can also type page numbers and ranges in Pages to delete, such as 2, 5-7.

  3. Check What Is Left

The summary next to Apply changes lists the pages to delete and how many pages the new PDF will have. At least one page must remain.

  4. Apply and Download

Select Apply changes, then download the new PDF, named after your file with -pages-removed added. Your original file isn't changed.

Key Features

Click or Type

Mark pages by selecting their previews, or type numbers and ranges such as 1, 4, 8-12. Both stay in step, so you can start one way and finish the other.

Pages Really Removed

Deleted pages are taken out of the new PDF, not just hidden, so their content doesn't stay in the file. Bookmarks and links that went to them, and form fields that were only on them, are removed too.

The Rest Stays as It Was

The pages you keep aren't redrawn or compressed, and keep their links, form fields and page labels; bookmarks and the document's title and author are kept. If the PDF is tagged for screen readers, the tags are removed, because they also described the deleted pages.

Done in Your Browser

PDF.js draws the previews and pdf-lib saves the new PDF on your own device. Your file is not uploaded to ToolistHub's server.

Free, With No Sign-Up

Use it without an account or email address. No watermark is added, and because the work runs in your browser, there is no hourly limit.

Common Use Cases

Blank and Extra Pages

Remove blank pages, cover sheets and duplicate scans before you send or print a document.

Sharing Only What Is Needed

Take out pages with details someone else doesn't need to see before you share a contract, a statement or a report.

Smaller Attachments

Drop pages you don't need so the PDF is shorter to read and, when the pages held images, smaller to send.

On Your Phone

Delete pages in your phone's browser, without installing an app. Very large files may need more memory than a phone has.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Check the summary before you apply: it lists the pages to delete, so a typing slip such as 5-75 instead of 5-7 is easy to spot.
  • Deleting a page also removes bookmarks and links that went to it. A bookmark that still has bookmarks under it stays, as a heading that doesn't open a page.
  • Removing pages doesn't remove information that belongs to the whole document, such as its title or author. Check the document properties before you share a sensitive file.
  • Applying changes saves the PDF again, so a digital signature in it will no longer be valid. Keep the original.
  • Password-protected PDFs can't have pages deleted. If you can open the file, save an unprotected copy first (for example with print to PDF, when printing is allowed) and use that copy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete pages from a PDF?▼

Add your PDF, then select Delete under each page you want to remove (or select its preview), or type the page numbers in Pages to delete. Pages marked Will be deleted can be brought back with Restore. Select Apply changes and download the new PDF, named after your file with -pages-removed added. Your original file isn't changed.

How do I remove several pages at once?▼

Type their numbers and ranges, separated by commas, in Pages to delete: for example 1, 4, 8-12 marks pages 1, 4 and 8 to 12. Pages you select in the previews appear in the box too, and Restore all pages brings every page back.

Are deleted pages really removed from the file?▼

Yes. Deleted pages are taken out of the new PDF, not just hidden, so their content doesn't stay in the file. Bookmarks and links that went to them, and form fields that were only on them, are removed too; the rest of the document keeps its bookmarks, links, form fields and properties such as the title. If the PDF is tagged for screen readers, the tags are removed, because they also described the deleted pages.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?▼

No. Delete PDF Pages works in your browser with the open-source PDF.js and pdf-lib libraries: your PDF is read, previewed and saved on your own device and is not uploaded to ToolistHub's server.

Can I delete pages on my phone?▼

Yes, in your phone's web browser: tap Delete under each page to remove, or type the page numbers, then tap Apply changes and Download PDF. The work happens on the phone, so a very large PDF may need more memory than it has.

What are the limits?▼

One PDF at a time, up to 50 MB and 1,000 pages, and at least one page must remain, so you can't delete every page. Encrypted PDFs can't have pages deleted, including password-protected PDFs and PDFs that open without a password but restrict editing or printing. Because the PDF is saved again, a digital signature in it will no longer be valid.

Is Delete PDF Pages free?▼

Yes. It is free, needs no account and adds no watermark. Because it runs in your browser, there is no hourly limit on how often you can use it.
